The state’s 23 distinct districts, known as West Bengal Districts, are each led by a Deputy Commissioner. Presidency, Jalpaiguri, Malda, Medinipur, and Burdwan are the five main administrative divisions that these districts fall under. The idea to introduce more West Bengal districts was recently approved by the Cabinet.

There will be 30 districts in West Bengal after the new districts are added. We have listed the names of the current and projected districts in the state of West Bengal here, along with other pertinent information.
